The acquisition of the new EMBRAER 190 aircraft is part of the fleet renovation and expansion program of the Mexican consortium, including Aeroméxico Connect, a subsidiary which currently operates 27 Embraer ERJ 145 jets on low-density regional, domestic and international markets out of Monterrey International Airport, in Mexico. Aeroméxico and Aeroméxico Connect are part of Aeroméxico Consortium, created in January 2006. "We are proud to be the first airline in Mexico to add to its fleet the EMBRAER 190 jet and its cutting-edge high technology," stated Andrés Conesa, Aeroméxico CEO. "Aeroméxico Connect currently has 27 ERJ 145 jets. By bringing the EMBRAER 190 into the fleet, we will expand our domestic and international routes, thus allowing Aeroméxico to continue being recognized as the global airline of Latin America." The EMBRAER 190 entered service in August 2005 and is one of the four members of the brand-new E-Jets family. With the recent sales announced at the Dubai Air Show 2007, November 11-15, the EMBRAER 170/190 family expanded its customer base to 45 airlines in more than 30 countries. |
