Australia Wants to Upgrade Collins' Combat Control System

The DSCA notified the US Congress of a possible Foreign Military Sale to Australia of Combat Control System Mk2 Block 1C Mod 6 Tactical Subsystems as well as associated equipment and services.

The government of Australia has requested a possible FMS of up to 9 Combat Control Systems (CCS) Mk2 Block 1C Mod 6 Tactical Subsystems (includes 6 ship sets, 1 integration/test/training module and 2 engineering design modules), support/test equipment, etc.

The estimated cost is $75 million.

The CCS Mk2 systems will be installed on the existing Collins diesel-electric submarines fleet. Australia seeks enhance Collins submarines interoperability with US submarines.

This potential sale must be approved by the US Congress.
