Boeing Awarded Lot 4 SDB Production Contract

McDonnell Douglas Corporation, A Wholly-Owned Subsidiary of the Boeing Company of St. Louis, Mo. is being awarded a firm-fixed price contract for $89,693,106. This action will exercise the Lot 4 option for Small Diameter Bomb (SDB), Increment I (Fixed/Stationary Target) Production for munitions, carriages and technical support. The SDB Increment I weapon system consist of a 250-pound class munitions, an Air Force common 4-place miniature munitions carriage systems, and technical support. The weapon system, designed to be compatible with fighters, bombers and several Unmanned Aerial Vehicles, is capable of significant standoff ranges against fixed and stationary targets. The Small Diameter Bomb Increment I weapon system increases weapon loadout, allowing more kills per sortie than current inventory weapons, decreases collateral damage, and possess and effective, day/night, adverse weather, stand-off capability. Under Lot 4 the following quantities will be purchased: 2082-SDB Munitions (687 of which are funded with FY07 GWOT funding), 337- Carriages, 742- Single Weapon Containers, and Technical Support. At this time all funds have been obligated. 681 ARSS/PK, Eglin Air Force Base Fla., is the contracting activity (FA8681-08-C-0053).
