EMBRAER OFFERS NEW OPERATIONAL SUPPORT TO SUPER TUCANO

So José dos Campos, April 1, 2008 Embraer has developed an advanced training and operational support system for the Super Tucano, known as TOSS (Training and Operation Support System), covering not only the aircraft, but also ground control stations. It consists of four systems: Computer-Based Training (CBT), which improves pilot learning; Flight Simulator (FS); Mission Planning Stations (MPS) for planning navigation and attack missions; and Mission Debriefing Station (MDS) for final mission reports.

"We believe that the system will provide significant improvement in the learning process of the pilots of the Colombian Air Force, thus boosting their mission capabilities," said Luiz Carlos Aguiar, Embraer Executive Vice President, Defense and Government Market.

TOSS increases aircraft effectiveness, and was sold along with 25 Super Tucano turboprops to the Colombian Government, in a contract signed with Embraer in 2005. Except for the flight simulator, which will be delivered in 2008, all of the other tools are now being used by the Colombian Air Force.
