Embraer Renews Service Contract with Air CaraibesNews >> Civil Aviation >> Sales & Contracts Released on Thursday, April 17, 2008According to the contract, the company will pay a given amount, based on the number of flight hours of the specific aircraft. Embraer assumes the responsibility for maintaining a parts inventory at its distribution and service centers, in order to provide parts to operators as soon as they are requested. Thus, the operator eliminates inventory management costs and always has the needed parts available to keep the airplane in perfect flying condition, assuring outstanding cost control and increasing the ability to budget expenses. "We are very happy to continue our Pool program with Air Carabes. This partnership is very important for Embraer, since the company is one of the largest airlines in Central America," said Leandro Laia, Embraer Vice President, Customer Support and Services Europe, Africa and the Middle East. "The on-site inventory located at Air Carabes will allow us to provide top-level service to the airline and will assure the aircraft's high utilization rate." Besides joining the Pool program, Air Carabes complemented the contract with Tool-on- Time, through which Embraer offers tools and support equipment for maintenance and repair procedures. The objective is to make available to customers all of the materials they need to perform aircraft maintenance, including state-of-the-art equipment used for specific procedures, avoiding additional investments in low-usage tools. "We already experienced the excellent service level of the Embraer Pool program while operating the EMBRAER 175 lease, last year. It seemed obvious to us to renew the agreement for our EMBRAER 190. The aircraft is used as a feeder for our long-haul routes, which must not suffer any delays. The Embraer Pool program and its Tool-on-Time option provide our maintenance staff with the support they need to meet our targets. The Embraer Pool Program is all the more important to us because our operations are remote and isolated," said Franois Hersen, President of Air Carabes Atlantique. |
