FMS: Jordan Seeks F-16A MLU and UH-60L

The Defense Security Cooperation Agency notified the Congress of two possible Foreign Military Sales (FMSs) to Jordan involving F-16A Mid Life Upgrade (MLU) kits and new built UH-60L helicopters.

The government of Jordan has requested a possible sale of 17 F-16A Mid-Life Upgrade (MLU) kits, 12 F100-PW-200E engine modification kits, 17 structural upgrade kits, spares, etc.

The estimated cost is $370 million.

This upgrade kits will be applied to existing F-16s in the Jordan Air Force to hold a squadron-sized unit equipped with upgraded F-16As. Jordan currently operates up to 16 similar F-16 aircraft.

The government of Jordan has also requested a possible sale of 8 UH-60L helicopters with T700-GE-701C engines, 4 spare T700-GE-701C engines, M130 chaff dispenser, receivers, spare and repair parts, etc. The estimated cost is $220 million.

The UH-60L BlackHawk helicopters will be deployed within the Jordan Army to enhance its air mobility capabilities.
