The Defense Security Cooperation Agency (DSCA) has notified the US Congress of a possible Foreign Military Sale to the Republic of Korea (ROK) of Standard and RAM missiles as well as associated equipment and services.

The potential sale requested by the government of South Korea consists of 159 SM-2 Block IIIA Standard Missiles with Mk 13 mod 0 canisters, 130 Rolling Airframe Missiles (RAM) with Mk 8 launching containers, spare and repair parts, supply support, personnel training, training equipment, publications and technical data, contractor engineering services and other related elements of logistics support. The total estimated cost with all options exercised is $403 million.

The Republic of Korea will use these missiles as primary defensive assets against airborne threats for Korean Navy KDX-II class destroyers and LPX amphibious assault ship. There are offset agreements (one or more) related to this proposed foreign military sale.
