The Finnish Patria corporation has signed a Memorandum of Intent with the Finnish Defense Forces concerning the purchase of about 100 AMV 8x8 Ground Fighting/Personal Carrier Vehicles.

The final agreement is to be signed before the end of this year. The deliveries of AMV 8x8 vehicles are scheduled for 2005-2008, these AMVs will be fitted out with a machine gun turret.

AMV 8x8 was selected as Poland's new armored vehicle in December 2002. Poland's AMV procurement is worth about

€1.2 billion, involving the supplying of 690 AMVs.

Currently, Patria is promoting AMV for several European customers.

AMV is a 14-24 tons, modular armored vehicle, with a high mobility off-road and low life-cycle cost.

It can accommodate a wide range of payloads due to its modularity enabling this vehicle to fulfill several mission profiles.
