The Finnish Defense Forces have awarded Patria Hägglunds (a joint venture between Patria of Finland and Alvis Hägglunds of Sweden) a €120 million ($150 million) contract for the delivery of 45 additional CV9030 infantry fighting vehicles to be delivered in 2006 and 2007.

Finland selected the CV9030 FIN in late 2000 with an initial order for 57 infantry fighting vehicles, of which 28 have been already delivered. No information about the CV9030 model to be delivered to Finland in the second batch has been disclosed yet, but it is likely to be the newest CV9035 MkIII variant armed with a 35mm cannon introduced in 2004.

To date, Sweden, Norway, Switzerland and Finland have ordered the CV90 family of armored vehicles with almost 1,000 units to be put into service in the near future. Many of the CV90s ordered are now in service with the four customer nations armies.

In addition to the CV9030 new order, Patria has announced the delivery of the first two of the 690 AMV 8x8 armored wheeled vehicles ordered by Poland. These vehicles are fitted with HitFist turret provided by OTO-Melara of Italy. Now, the Polish Army will begin a test and verification phase that will end later this year. The agreement between Poland and Patria for the purchase of the AMV vehicle was signed in 2003.
