Eurocopter officially has delivered the first Tiger HAP to the French Army Air Corps (ALAT) at Marignane, France. This is the first helicopter of firm order comprising 80 Tiger helicopters ordered by the French Defense Procurement Agency (DGA).

This milestone marks the Tiger meets the program requirements in terms of performance and systems. Tiger deliveries to the French Armed Forces will continue until 2010. In 2005, Eurocopter expects to deliver 10 combat support Tiger HAPs to France and Spain.

The helicopter delivered today will be assigned to the Franco-German Tiger training academy at Le Luc in Southern France. Tiger HAP includes a 30mm turret-mounted gun, rocket and Mistral air-to-air missiles. In addition, its stealthy features make Tiger HAP suitable for combat support and escort missions.

To date, Eurocopter has received firm orders from four countries totaling 206 helicopters distributed as follows: France 80, Germany 80, Australia 22 and Spain 24.
