So José dos Campos, September 24, 2008 - Embraer and Flybe Aviation Services signed a
five-year contract, naming the regional aircraft maintenance company as an authorized service
center for the ERJ 145 and E-Jets families. Based in Exeter Airport, in the U.K., Flybe is an
Embraer Parts Pool Program customer, and now joins the Company's aviation services network.
Flybe Aviation Services will have access to Embraer's structure-specific repair solutions and
extensive database, and will be entitled to handle airframe and warranty issues on behalf of
its customers, including the U.K.'s low-cost regional carrier Flybe, which operates the
EMBRAER 195 jet.
"Flybe Aviation Services will provide qualified maintenance for Embraer commercial jets.
We see this partnership as a very good opportunity to offer our customers a broader network
of authorized service centers," said Leandro Laia, Embraer Vice President, Customer
Support and Services - Europe, Africa and the Middle East. "While planning to expand our
service center network in the region, we looked for expertise, reputation and competitive
prices, in order to offer the best to our customers."
This contract is a key part of Embraer's plan to expand its maintenance, repair and overhaul
(MRO) network in Europe, and the attractive new base in Southwest England will be an
excellent site for customers to have their work done. The MRO company has invested
extensively in specific ground support equipment, tools, material, and staff training.
"We are proud that Embraer has selected and qualified Flybe Aviation Services to provide line
maintenance services to its commercial aircraft," said Marshall Barrand, Engineering Director
of Flybe Aviation Services. "We are pleased to expand our activities to the E-Jets maintenance
programs, as the number of Embraer customers in Europe and the Middle East increases."
