Fridtjof Nansen Frigates to Receive Sea Protector Remote Weapon Systems

Kongsberg Defence & Aerospace (KONGSBERG) has signed a contract for delivery of Sea PROTECTOR RemoteWeapon Systems to the Norwegian Armed Forces.

The delivery of the systems includes equipment, integration and logistics services. The systems shall be fully operational on the Royal Norwegian Navy's new "Fridtjof Nansen" frigate within the third quarter of 2009, and provide unique operational capabilities to counter asymmetric threats and enhance the overall ship protection and surveillance capabilities. The Sea PROTECTOR carries forward the exceptional record and reliability of KONGSBERG's PROTECTOR family of Remote Weapon Stations into the naval environment.
