June 22, 2009 -- EVENDALE, OHIO -- GE Aviation has signed an exclusive distributor agreement with Aviall Services, Inc., a unit of Aviall, Inc., a wholly-owned subsidiary of The Boeing Company, that expands its spare parts distribution for the widely-popular GE CF34-3 aircraft engines to include unique life limited parts (LLPs).
The agreement is effective for the remaining life of the engine and builds on the distribution agreement GE Aviation and Aviall signed last year for certain unique spare parts for the CF34-3 engine. GE will retain technical responsibility for these engines.
Under the agreement, Aviall is responsible for forecasting, ordering, and delivering all genuine Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) replacement parts that are unique to CF34-3 engines as well as documentation management, worldwide inventory deployment, warehousing, and product distribution. Aviall utilizes its advanced, award-winning technologies to support the GE CF34-3 engine spare part sales analysis, line item forecasting, production planning, sales intelligence systems, end-customer requirement planning, advance provisioning and supply-chain administrative needs.
"Aviall's demonstrated outstanding customer service and forecasting capabilities have given GE Aviation the confidence to extend the CF34-3 spare parts distribution agreement," said Tom Gentile, vice president and general manager of GE Aviation's Services organization. "The agreement will simplify our spare parts distribution channels for our customers and enable them to receive the same high quality level of access and support for their OEM spare parts."
The CF34-3 engines power the Bombardier CRJ100/200 regional jets and the popular Bombardier Challenger models 601 and 604 business jet. More than 1,650 CF34-3-powered aircraft are in service in both airline fleets and business jets applications and have accumulated more than 24 million flight hours.
