Grupo Marsans Selects Pratt & Whitney PW4000 Engines in Deal Valued at Up to US$1 Billion

PARIS AIR SHOW, France, June 18, 2007 Grupo Marsans, the largest tourism and transport group in Spain, has selected Pratt & Whitney PW4000-100" engines to power the airline's fleet of new Airbus A330 aircraft. The engine and maintenance agreement, which covers up to 22 aircraft, is valued at more than US$1 billion if all options are exercised. Pratt & Whitney is a division of United Technologies Corp. (NYSE: UTX).

The engines will power new A330 wide-body jets purchased by Grupo Marsans late last year including 12 firm aircraft and the option for 10 additional aircraft. The PW4000-100" engines are covered by an exclusive service agreement provided by Pratt & Whitney Global Service Partners. The A330s will be operated by Grupo Marsans' Air Comet and Aerolineas Argentinas airlines with aircraft deliveries beginning in 2008.

"This fleet expansion confirms Grupo Marsans commitment to develop and expand our long haul network," said Gonzalo Pascual, president of Grupo Marsans. "The PW4000 engines are the highest performing, most efficient engines for this fleet and will support our expansion in Latin America and around the world."

The PW4170 model engines with Advantage70TM deliver the best combination of aircraft performance and low fuel burn for the A330. The order marks the launch of Advantage70 in Europe and South America. The Advantage70 technology upgrade delivers enhanced engine performance, lower fuel consumption, increased durability and reduced maintenance costs.

"We are proud to continue our relationship with Grupo Marsans by powering their expanded long haul fleet with reliable PW4000 engines," said Todd Kallman, president of Pratt & Whitney Commercial Engines. "The PW4170 with Advantage70 continues to offer the best performance, fuel efficiency and maintenance cost for the A330 family of aircraft."
