Grupo Marsans and Pratt & Whitney Sign PW4000 Engine DealNews >> Power Plants >> Sales & Contracts Released on Monday, June 18, 2007The engines will power new A330 wide-body jets purchased by Grupo Marsans late last year including 12 firm aircraft and the option for 10 additional aircraft. The PW4000-100" engines are covered by an exclusive service agreement provided by Pratt & Whitney Global Service Partners. The A330s will be operated by Grupo Marsans' Air Comet and Aerolineas Argentinas airlines with aircraft deliveries beginning in 2008. "This fleet expansion confirms Grupo Marsans commitment to develop and expand our long haul network," said Gonzalo Pascual, president of Grupo Marsans. "The PW4000 engines are the highest performing, most efficient engines for this fleet and will support our expansion in Latin America and around the world." The PW4170 model engines with Advantage70TM deliver the best combination of aircraft performance and low fuel burn for the A330. The order marks the launch of Advantage70 in Europe and South America. The Advantage70 technology upgrade delivers enhanced engine performance, lower fuel consumption, increased durability and reduced maintenance costs.
