HONG KONG (Sept. 3, 2007) - Hawker Beechcraft Corporation (HBC) has received an order from Jet Asia Limited for eight of the company's newest jets, four Hawker 900XP mid-size jets and four Hawker 750 light-midsize jets for use in the Asia Pacific. These aircraft will be used in support of Sociedade de Jogos de Macau (SJM), a casino company owned by Sociedade de Turismo e Diversoes de Macau (STDM), and to further develop the explosive Asian jet charter market. Service using the new Hawker fleet will begin in December, 2007.
"The Hawker 900XP and Hawker 750 provide our customers with the best combination of cabin size, payload, and range in their respective market segments," said Brad Hatt, president, Commercial Sales. "The Hawker has always been synonymous with quality, performance and value, and the new Hawker 900XP and 750 are very well positioned to serve the Asian charter market."
These highly efficient aircraft will be based in Shanghai, Macau, Taipei and Kuala Lumpur, creating tremendous economies for Macau-based casino development. This multi-base strategy will provide charter clients with cost-effective solutions, since most Asian operators offer aircraft from a single location.
Jet Asia Limited was incorporated in Macau in 1997 for the STDM corporate flight department. Executive charters are offered under authority granted by its Macau Air Operator Certificate.
The new Hawker 900XP was launched in October 2006 and will enter the market in September 2007. The Hawker 900XP will launch Honeywell's new TFE731-50R engine providing improved hot and high altitude performance with over 2,800 nautical mile NBAA IFR range with six passengers allowing it to make a non-stop flight from Beijing to Singapore. It also will have the same cabin size as the Hawker 800-series, the largest and most successful cabin in its class. Featuring a factory-customized interior and HBC-designed winglets, the 900XP will be well positioned to continue to be the most preferred airplane in the mid-size segment. At a 2007 typically-equipped price of $14.3 million, deliveries of the Hawker 900XP will begin in September and foreign certifications are already being pursued.
The new Hawker 750 will be a 2,100 nautical mile NBAA IFR range airplane with four passengers, strategically positioned with the largest cabin in the light-mid size aircraft segment. It will have the same cabin as the Hawker 800-series, but the ventral fuel tank will be replaced with a heated external baggage compartment with 32 cubic feet of additional baggage capacity. The Hawker 750 cabin measuring 5'9" in height and 6'0" in width will be far superior in both comfort and size to anything in the light-mid size category. The airplane will continue to use the highly successful Honeywell TFE731-5BR engine and state-of-the-art Collins Pro Line 21 avionics package. The aircraft will feature a new Hawker interior designed specifically for the 750 and for this market segment. Priced at $11.2 million standard and $11.9 million typically equipped in 2007 dollars, certification is planned for Q4 2007 and deliveries will begin in early 2008.
