MOAB Tested

The USAF has announced the successful testing of the MOAB weapon at the Eglin test range, Florida.

The MOAB weapon was dropped from a C-130 Hercules aircraft. The MOAB is precision-guided weapon weighing 21,500 pounds. It will become the largest non-nuclear weapon in the US inventory.

The MOAB program started in fiscal year 2002 and is to be completed this year. This testing has been strongly related to the next US military campaign in Iraq.
