Navantia Deliveres Third F310-Class Frigate to the Royal Norwegian NavyNews >> Sea Power >> Announcements Released on Wednesday, April 30, 2008Navantia has commissioned on April, 30th., the frigate F-312 "Otto Sverdrup" to the Royal Norwegian Navy. The ceremony, that took place at the Fene-Ferrol shipyard, has been atended by the Chief of Norwegian Navy, Admiral Jan Eirik Finseth, and the President and General Director of Navantia, Juan Pedro Gómez Jaén and Bernabé Unda. The delivery protocol has been signed by the Director of the shipyard, �ngel Recamán, and the Director of NDLO, General Trond Karlsen. After the signature of the protocol and the change of flags, the Chief of Navy has inspected the crew, and the crew has marched on board. Afterwards the guests have had the opportunity to go on board the "Otto Sverdrup". The frigate F-312 "Otto Sverdrup", named after the famous Norwegian XIX century explorer, is the third of the series of 5 identical F-310 class frigates, ordered to Navantia by the Royal Norwegian Navy. It was launched on April 28th. 2006, exactly two years ago, being the Godmother, Ingvild Sverdrup, great granddaughter of the explorer.
