Northrop Grumman Wins Radar Contract for Portuguese Air Force C-295News >> Electronic Gear & Sensors >> Sales & Contracts Released on Thursday, February 15, 2007The contract was awarded by European Aeronautic Defence and Space Company -- Construcciones Aeronauticas SA (CASA). "This contract provides the Portuguese Air Force with a C-295 aircraft that meets their stringent all-weather operational performance requirements," said Andrew Wesolowski, director of Northrop Grumman's Combat Air Delivery Systems programs. "The AN/APN-241 provides discriminating performance capabilities needed for the light transport aircraft crew to accomplish strategic or tactical missions in a dynamic environment," he said. As part of the contract, Northrop Grumman is also providing the operational flight program software to meet PAF requirements for commonality with existing C-130 radar hardware, reducing additional logistics and supply requirements. Work will be performed by the company's Electronic Systems sector in Norwalk, Conn. and Baltimore.
