Northwest's new EMBRAER 175 will be configured with 76 seats, 12 first-class and 64 coach. "The fuel-efficient EMBRAER 175 allows Northwest to offer first-class seating to more customers and to open new routes that were not feasible to operate with larger aircraft," said Neal Cohen, Chief Executive Officer - Regional Airlines, Northwest Airlines, Inc. The EMBRAER 175 is the second of four members of the E-Jets family, a new generation of aircraft designed specifically for the 70 to 120 seat segment. Adopting a clean sheet design, Embraer's E-Jets are engineered to maximize passenger comfort with exceptional performance and superior operating economics.
