Pratt & Whitney Canada Dependable PT6 Chosen to Power Lancair Evolution Aircraft

EAA AIRVENTURE, Oshkosh, Wis., July 25, 2007 - Pratt & Whitney Canada's PT6 turboprop engine today was selected to power Lancair International Inc.'s all-new four-place Evolution aircraft. Pratt & Whitney Canada (P&WC) is a United Technologies (NYSE: UTX) company.

Lancair, designer and manufacturer of high-performance piston and turbine kit aircraft, will provide a PT6-135A engine as part of its "fast-build kit" for its new experimental Evolution.

"We are delighted our PT6 turboprop has been chosen for Lancair's Evolution aircraft," said Claude Lachapelle, vice president, Business Aviation, P&WC. "The PT6 offers trademark dependability together with outstanding operating economics to customers in this growing market."

"The PT6 is the world's most popular engine and a perfect choice for our new Evolution aircraft," said Joseph C. Bartels, president and CEO, Lancair. "Installed on our innovative Evolution aircraft, it promises to deliver exhilarating climbs and excellent cruise speed at reasonable fuel burn."

The PT6A-135A engine is one of the latest derivatives of the legendary PT6 turboprop family. Rated at 750 shp for takeoff, it offers excellent power at cruise altitude due to its high thermal rating.

The PT6 turboprop family today powers aircraft in 172 countries and has accumulated some 300 million operating hours. Lancair Evolution operators will also benefit from P&WC's industry-leading global customer support.
