Rafael's Armor to the Polish Armed Forces

August 15, 2007 Haifa. Rafael Armament Development Authority Ltd. announces that it has supplied the Polish Armed Forces with advanced armor for its Patria ROSOMAK AFVs that serve the overseas peacekeeping forces.

As part of an emergency request, Rafael was able to comply with all requirements put forward by the Polish Army and in June of this year, supplied a unique suit of armor for the AFVs. The armor introduces a technological innovation in passive armor design and is made up of composite metal, ceramic and polymeric materials. .

Rafael worked together with Bumar and WZM (Siemanowice), Polish defense companies, on the ROSOMAK project. When the armor was supplied it was extensively tested, in Poland and provided a high level of protection which exceeds NATO requirements.

"Rafael has succeeded in a very challenging program within a tight schedule, weight limitation and tough protection requirements. We are proud to contribute our capabilities in ensuring the safety of the Polish soldiers in the course of their peacekeeping efforts" says Lova Drori, Corporate VP Marketing and Business Development at Rafael. "This program is added to other high quality systems supplied by Rafael to the Polish Defense Forces. We would be glad to supply additional systems that would improve the system capabilities of their fighting vehicles if requested."
