Rolls-Royce, Air Evac Lifeteam Upgrade Medical Aircraft

Orlando, FL: Rolls-Royce, the world-leading provider of power systems and services, has reached an agreement with Air Evac Lifeteam to upgrade the powerplants in its fleet of medical helicopters.

Rolls-Royce will provide 50 new and reconditioned Model 250-C30P turboshaft engines for Air Evac Lifeteam's fleet of Bell 206L aircraft. The agreement includes training and support, as well as aftermarket services.

Air Evac Lifeteam, based in West Plains, Mo., is a leading provider of air medical transportation to rural communities. Air Evac Lifeteam provides patients with high-caliber, on-the-scene medical attention during the critical hour following an accident or medical emergency and rapid transport to leading medical centers. The membership-supported air ambulance service operates more than 60 bases in 11 centrally-located states.

In total, nearly 30,000 Model 250 engines have been produced, with approximately 16,000 remaining in service. It remains one of the highest-selling engines made by Rolls-Royce.
