IAE WINS $580 MILLION V2500SELECT® ORDER FROM SILKAIR

International Aero Engines announced today (April 22) that Singapore-based SilkAir had chosen the V2500 to power up to 20 Airbus A320 family aircraft. The engines will be backed by a V2500Select® agreement and, if all orders are realized, the combined engine purchase and aftermarket agreement is valued at $580 million to IAE.

IAE President & CEO Jon Beatty said: "We share with SilkAir a determination to provide a premium service to all our customers and repeat business such as this is a great vote of confidence in the leading performance of the V2500 and IAE's aftermarket support. Through V2500Select®, SilkAir is assured of maintaining the lowest fuel burn and lowest total emissions for the A320."

SilkAir currently has 15 V2500-powered A320 family aircraft in operation. The additional aircraft announced today will begin delivery in March 2009.
