AUSTRALIA'S SKYAIRWORLD JOINS EMBRAER PARTS POOL PROGRAM

So José dos Campos, September 25, 2008 Embraer Asia Pacific, the Company's subsidiary in Singapore, has signed Australian airline SkyAirWorld to a five-year Parts Pool Program service contract to support one EMBRAER 170, one EMBRAER 190, and two ERJ 145 jets operated by the airline. The agreement covers 635 part numbers for these four aircraft and a second EMBRAER 190 scheduled for delivery in December 2008.

"This further expansion of Embraer aviation services in the Asia Pacific region is an exciting moment for us, in light of our commitment to give customers full and efficient support for their operations," said André de Castilho, Director, Customer Support and Services Embraer Asia Pacific. "As the Embraer fleet grows, the demand for parts and special maintenance and repair equipment requires specific and economic solutions that guarantee the dispatch reliability and the high performance of these modern aircraft in the region."

SkyAirWorld's Head of Engineering and Maintenance Control, Nick Gooneratne, said he was delighted about the company's participation in the Parts Pool Program. "SkyAirWorld was the first airline to operate Embraer aircraft in the Australian region and we have introduced three airplane models in 18 months. I am hopeful that with this new agreement, and through additional support provided by Embraer, we will now be able to more effectively manage and operate our growing fleet of Embraer aircraft," he said.

The Parts Pool Program is an asset and component repair management program which airlines can rely upon to lower their costs and guarantee that a "no go" or "go if" part will be available when needed. Through on-site and exchange stock, Embraer maintains ample inventories of high-demand parts and components. This ensures that they are always available for replacement, and turn-around-time is no longer a concern. The Parts Pool Program also saves operators from having to manage repairs and warranty claims, and relieves many inventory carrying costs, such as surplus, material overhead, insurance, and more.
