Swiss Air Force F/A-18C/D Aircraft to Receive ATFLIR Targeting Pod

MCKINNEY, Texas, Sept. 21, 2009 /PRNewswire/ -- Raytheon Company (NYSE: RTN) has received a $42 million Foreign Military Sales award from the U.S. Navy to provide 14 Advanced Targeting Forward Looking Infrared pod systems and spares to the Swiss Air Force.

The delivery of the ATFLIR pods by Raytheon Space and Airborne Systems, expected in 2010, will provide the Swiss F/A-18 Hornet aircraft advanced electro-optical and infrared sensors with a tracking laser.

"These additional pod systems give the Swiss Air Force advanced sensor and laser-tracking capability," said Tim Carey, vice president for Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance Systems.
