EMBRAER SELLS 11 E-JETS TO TACA

So José dos Campos, October 24, 2007 Embraer announces a contract for the sale of 11 EMBRAER 190 jets, with options for another 15 aircraft of the same model, to El Salvador's TACA Group. The value of the deal, at list price, is US$ 379.5 million, based on the economic conditions of January 2007, and could reach US$ 897 million, if all options are confirmed. This order was already included in Embraer's third-quarter backlog as "Undisclosed".

"It is with great satisfaction that we see another important Latin American operator joining the family of E-Jets customers," stated Mauro Kern, Embraer's Executive Vice President, Airline Market. "TACA's strategy of linking the three Americas will be boosted by the EMBRAER 190 addition to its current narrow body fleet. The natural blend of the EMBRAER 190s and the narrow bodies will create a wining vector supporting TACA's further growth and expansion, efficiently combining low operating costs and outstanding passenger comfort."

The new aircraft of the TACA Group will be configured with two classes and will comfortably accommodate 96 passengers eight in executive class and 88 in economy. Deliveries are planned to begin in the second half of 2008.

"With the acquisition of the EMBRAER 190 commercial jets, our company reinforces its service to the varied markets of Latin America, whose needs combine very well with the characteristics of these aircraft," stated Roberto Kriete, Chairman and CEO of TACA. "This is a part of the efforts put forth by TACA to satisfy our customers in small or growing, and those that need new frequencies. We are proud to sign this contract, which will no doubt contribute to consolidating our expansion throughout the three Americas."

The EMBRAER 190 is one of the four members of the brand new E-Jets family and entered service in August 2005. As of September 30, 2007, the EMBRAER 170/190 family of E-Jets had logged 712 firm orders and 756 options, totaling 1,468 aircraft. During this period, Embraer delivered 292 E-Jets to more than 37 customers in 25 countries on five continents, which have accumulated over 900,000 flight hours.
