TAM Signs OnPoint Solution Agreement for CF6-80C2 Engine Fleet
--LE BOURGET -- TAM Airlines, Brazil's leading airline, has signed a five-year OnPointSM solution agreement with GE Aviation for the maintenance of its CF6-80C2E engine fleet that powers its Boeing 767 aircraft.
"TAM has relied on GE's MRO expertise for its CF6-80E1, CFM56* and GE90 engine lines, and we look forward to providing the airline with the same high-quality OEM material and services on its CF6-80C2 engine fleet," said Kevin McAllister, vice president and general manager of Global Sales, GE Aviation.
Along with the CF6-80C2 engine, TAM operates GE90-powered Boeing 777, CF6-80E1-powered Airbus A330s and CFM56*-powered Airbus A320 aircraft.
"Today, we have a fleet of 155 airplanes, operating domestic flights in Brazil, a large country, and to South America, Europe and the United States, with high rates of usage time.
