--LE BOURGET -- TAM Airlines, Brazil's leading airline, has signed a five-year OnPointSM solution agreement with GE Aviation for the maintenance of its CF6-80C2E engine fleet that powers its Boeing 767 aircraft.

"TAM has relied on GE's MRO expertise for its CF6-80E1, CFM56* and GE90 engine lines, and we look forward to providing the airline with the same high-quality OEM material and services on its CF6-80C2 engine fleet," said Kevin McAllister, vice president and general manager of Global Sales, GE Aviation.

Along with the CF6-80C2 engine, TAM operates GE90-powered Boeing 777, CF6-80E1-powered Airbus A330s and CFM56*-powered Airbus A320 aircraft.

"Today, we have a fleet of 155 airplanes, operating domestic flights in Brazil, a large country, and to South America, Europe and the United States, with high rates of usage time. This maintenance contract with GE, together with others previously signed, is key to assure efficiency and safety in our operation," stated José Zaidan Maluf, TAM's Supply and Contract Vice President.
