TRML-3D Demonstrates Network-Centric Capable during NATO ExerciseNews >> Electronic Gear & Sensors >> Development Released on Wednesday, August 08, 2007Two TRML systems were used in this exercise as part of the Dutch air defence system FGBADS. The two TRML systems were integrated into the complete command chain from sensor to weapon system. The evaluation of the course of the exercise now showed the high performance capability of the system when deployed on a mobile and networked basis. Integrating target data from the Link 16 tactical datalink at the same time proved how valuable interoperability is also in short to medium range air defence systems. The system supplied to the Dutch armed forces six months ago worked perfectly stable and showed a high availability rate. Excellent detection properties were demonstrated even under the influence of various jammers. TRML-3D is a mobile surveillance and target acquisition radar, which can be integrated efficiently via the command and control systems of the air defence system. So far, TRML a joint product of the EADS Defence & Communications Systems und Defence Electronics Business Units has been deployed in Lithuania and the Netherlands. Systems for Malaysia will be delivered in the near future. EADS - European Aeronautic Defence and Space FGBAD - Future Ground Based Air Defence NATO - North Atlantic Treaty Organization |
