Yes Its Sickle 1001 again about China. Anyways I was wondering since it is certainally looks possible that China will be the next dominant superpower on our small world. What would be the advantages of China being number one compared to the United States?

Well sickle i reckon its an interesting question. If you were to listen to our current stock of 'do-good let the terrorists live and get out of Iraq' types it will be just rosie. There will be no poverty, no wars and everybody will get on just great. And then reality hits.

China and the Chinese are by no means an evil people. They seem to be a hard working, dedicated and intelligent populous. But, there Government leaves a little to be desired.

As we all know Communism just doesnt work. In the perfect world communism would be great. Everybody puts in the same labor and gets out the same returns. Everybody is equal and strives to better the country. But then comes along the leaders who feel they deserve more perks because they run the joint, then a few more people decide they deserve a little more, then that particular class of worker doesnt do enough so they deserve less then the other guy. Pretty soon it stinks.

If you look at world history and don't listen to the do-gooders, western culture is the most tollerent regime the world has seen. Sure, there are a lot of blemishes on the record, but overall western nations are seen as places of freedom. China aint.

Look at Hong Kong. Before being handed back to China the joint was pretty much at the top of the business pile. A modern thriving metropolis. Even the Chinese knew that if they imposed their ways on Hong Kong on it being returned to Chinese control that it would stuff up. Interesting to note.

On another note, in our world wars it has been the winners who have written the history books. Imagine if Germany or the Axis had of won the war. The Holocaust would by no means be as well known as it is now. But allied atrocsities would be. Think of the Bombing of Dresden, that would be highlighted as an evil perpatrated by the evil allies, the fire bombings of both German and Japanese cities would be seen in the same light. POW slaughters like those seen in the pacific and in the battle of the Bulge would be replaced by their allied equivelences. Also Stalin would take the place of Hitler in the anals of history as the worlds most evil man (which if you read into it he was IMHO).

What I'm trying to say is effectively beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Westerners would see China's dominance as a bad thing but the rest of the world might be taught different.

But look at the difference in Economies, the Americans are massive like nothing the world has seen. I just cannot see China being able to overtake the U.S. on a global scale. And don't forget about Russia either. They are massive and I believe once they get the poo together they will re-emerge as a world power. I mean once they break out the Wd-40 on there naval fleets, air and land forces they could overtake China in military mig ht almost overnight.

Anyway my 2 cents.

Well I hope the Russians will get their poo together, because they resemble a more western nation than China. (In my opinion) Plus having a third wheel in this Century might not be bad. Also the Indians are going to get alot bigger in this century and hopefully the Europeans will also unite and by the time this all happens every one will get along because there's too many superpowers to be fighting on such a small planet. But of coarse that probably won't be the case.

As for your comments on China being a communist state, I reckon its no longer the case, political and especially economic system rather resambles fascist. Its a capitalist state, but its a state capitalism very much like fascist regimes of mid 20th centuary, not much in ideology but in its economic system.

The only thing I guess there is to say is that China unless something extremely goes wrong will take their place as the most powerful country sometime in this century. It will probably be in the latter half unless some more incidents happen in the US such as a cut in oil supplies or a WMD terrorist attack, but hey I just sit back like the rest of my country and let the good times roll.

Sickle I disagree with you China may pass the US in being an economic power but its very doubtfully they will gain the upperhand militaraly I doubt that the rest of the world would let that happen. They have alot of work and spending a head of them if they are going to do that right now other than their nukes they couldnt take tiawan.
