The 55K6MA along with the 85Zh6-2 are the mobile command posts for the S-500 air and space defense system slated for entry into service by 2020. Both command posts are mounted on the BAZ-69092-12 6x6 truck chassis. These vehicles manage the data provided by the S-500 multiple radar systems along with data coming from other sources such as the Voronezh strategic defense radars. The command posts also control the 77P6 missile and interceptor launch vehicles and the whole interception process.
