The Future Ready Combat Vehicle (FRCV) is a new tank designed and developed by India as replacement for 2,000 T-72M1 tanks. The Indian Army may use the FRCV as the basis for an armored vehicle family similar to the Russian Armata tank. The platform may form the basis for 11 different military vehicles including tracked, light tracked, wheeled, bridge layer, trawl tanks, self-propelled howitzers, air defense guns, artillery observation posts, engineering vehicle and armored ambulances.
