The People's Liberation Army (PLA) PGZ-04A, also known as PGZ-95 or Type 95, is a short-range, self-propelled gun and missile air defense system. It is equipped with four Type 87 25mm cannons and optionally four QW-2 short-range surface-to-air missiles to engage a variety of low altitude flying aircraft and missiles. The vehicle is fitted with its own CLC-1 radar, electro-optical sensors and fire control system mounted on an armored tracked chassis which signals its suitability to be deployed along front-line armored units anywhere on the battlefield. The Type 95 can be deployed individually or within a battery. A battery consists of six Type 95 vehicles, a command and control vehicle with longer range radar, and three ammunition re-supply vehicles. The PLA introduced this air defense system in the late 1990s.
