The Turkish Army M60T Sabra is an extremely upgraded variant of the M60A3 Patton main battle tank (MBT) developed between Israel IMI Industries and Turkey. The M60T tank features the IMI MG253 120mm smoothbore gun, improved armor including explosive reactive armor kits, new fire control system from Elbit Systems, more powerful MTU 881 Ka-501 diesel engine, Commander's Independent Thermal Viewer (CITV) adding hunter-killer capability and upgraded running gear for enhanced cross-country mobility. The weapon system of the M60T also includes a coaxial 7.62mm machine gun and roof-mounted 12.7mm cannon and 7.62mm machine gun as well as 60mm mortar. The Turkish Army upgraded 170 M60 tanks to the M60T standard between 2007 and 2009.
