The CS16V27 is a diesel engine developed for the People’s Liberation Army Navy (PLAN) to power its latest generation frigates such as Type 054B. The CS16V27 diesel engine develops a power in excess of 9,760-hp (7 MW). The Type 054B class frigates are powered by four engines expected to enter service in 2025-2026.
