The EL/M-2054 is a compact, lightweight airborne Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) and Ground Moving Target Indicator (GMTI) payload with low power consumption developed by Elta Systems, an IAI subsidiary. It has been designed to operate in all-weather conditions providing air-to-surface intelligence, surveillance, target acquisition and reconnaissance (ISTAR) capabilities. The EL/M-2054 features modular and open architecture that can be easily configured into small tactical unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), light reconnaissance aircraft and tactical aerostats. This systems is specially suited to support ground forces in regular and asymmetrical combat operations. IAI unveiled the EL/M-2054 radar at the October 2011 Annual Association of the United States Army (AUSA) in Washington DC.
