The High-Power Electro-Magnetics (HPEM) is a new countermeasure system developed by Diehl Defence to counter mini-drones by disabling the control electronics. The HPEM emits electromagnetic pulses to abort mini-drone missions at distances of several hundred meters triggering fail-safe function. This new countermeasure system can be used to disable an entire swarm of mini-drones simultaneously. The HPEM does not causes harm to individuals and is already being used for stopping cars.
