The ShAK-12 is an advanced 12.7x55mm assault rifle developed by TsKIB SOO small arms design bureau (part of KBP) for the law enforcement agencies of Russia. The ShAK-12 12.7mm assault rifle is a derivative of Ash 12.7mm heavy assault rifle and is suitable for combat at close range. The new gun is being procured by police special forces in limited numbers starting in December 2018.
