The Thales Vigile is a fourth generation electronic support measures (ESM) system tailored for naval applications. The Vigile system provides broad band (C to J bands), digital receiver and pulse analysis with the ability to detect low probability of intercept (LPI) or invisible hostile radars using ultra sensitive search mode. Besides, this ESM supports electronic intelligence (ELINT), precise deinterleaving, and specific emitter identification/platform identification using ESM tasked mode measuring signals frequency, phase and amplitude.

The Vigile LW is a lightweight, compact, naval radar Electronic Support Measures (RESM) system designed to provide situational awareness for small vessels, patrol boats and attack craft. It detects, identifies and displays air and surface threats in real time, providing tactical situational awareness as well as immediate, automatic warning of high priority threats. Vigile LW combines key Thales technologies in Radio Frequency and the latest advances in digital software. It was launched by Thales at Defexpo exhibition in India February 2010.

Vigile LW is the core element of a Self Protection Suite and can be operated as a standalone RESM or as a central Electronic Warfare controller. It can control the communication and Radar ESM, Laser Warning, Missile warning and programmable decoying functions. Installed across several vessels, Vigile LW can provide a network-centric compatible solution for increased protection. The system operates automatically and therefore is autonomous and easy to support. Tracks can optionally be overlayed onto the radar picture, removing the need for a dedicated Electronic Warfare operator and thereby keeping through-life costs low and easing crew workloads.
