The Fleet Solid Support (FSS) is a new class of replenishment ships intended for support to the Royal Navy. The FSS vessels will take care of providing munitions, food, stores and provisions to aircraft carriers and amphibious assault ships. The FSS program was launched in May 2021 with the aim to award a contract by 2023. The Royal Navy Auxiliary Fleet will get three vessels to the build and delivered before 2030.
The United Kingdom (UK) Royal Fleet Auxiliary (RFA) Support Ship is a fleet of three vessels intended to support the Royal Navy frigates. Team Resolute comprising BMT, Harland & Wolff and Navantia UK, was selected by the UK Ministry of Defense (MoD) to carry out the new support ship program. The 1.6 billion Pound contract was awarded to Team Resolute on November 16, 2022. The construction of the new vessels is expected to start in 2025 with the three of them delivered and operational by 2032.
