The P71 is an Offshore Patrol Vessel (OPV) designed and built by Cantiere Navale Vittoria for the Armed Forces of Malta. The 1,800 tons ship is 74.8 meters long and the diesel electric propulsion system will be supplied by Rolls-Royce. The vessel will be designed to conduct border control operations in addition to other duties such as search and rescue, replenishment-at-sea and helicopter operations. The P71 patrol vessel is expected to be delivered in 2020.
