The Kh-MD is a new air-to-air, infrared-guided, short-range missile developed by the Tactical Missiles Corporation (KTRV) for use by drones and light aircraft. The Kh-MD features a new matrix infrared homing sensor/seeker developed in Russia. The new missile was tested by December 2022 and is expected to enter service in 2023 or 2024. There are three variants equipped with three different homing heads. The Kh-MD missile can be launched from surface ships.
