The Pars is a family of high mobility, amphibious, all-wheel drive multipurpose armored vehicles developed by FNSS to meet the requirements of the Turkish Armed Forces and a wide range of export customers. The Pars and the Otokar ARMA wheeled armored vehicle family are competing to receive orders for the Turkish Armed Forces. The Pars 4x4 is a 13-ton class armored vehicle designed to transport a crew of three-man (driver, gunner and commander) and three to seven infantrymen. It can be equipped with a variety of turrets and weapon stations to provide fire support to dismounted troops. It is powered by a 300-hp (or 450-hp) Euro 3 diesel engine developing a top speed of 100 kph. The Pars 4x4 has been designed to be air transportable by C-130, A400, C-17 and C-5 aircraft.

It can be equipped with a variety of turrets and weapon stations to provide fire support to dismounted troops. It is powered by a 600-hp Euro 3 diesel engine developing a top speed of 100 kph. The Pars 8x8 has been designed to be air transportable by C-130, A400, C-17 and C-5 aircraft.

In June 2011, Malaysia became the first export customer with a $559 million order for 257 AV-8 wheeled armored vehicles in 12 variants. The vehicles will be designed, developed and manufactured in partnership between FNSS of Turkey and DEFTECH of Malaysia.
