The Elbit Systems Spear is a fully autonomous mortar system designed for lightweight tactical vehicles to engage targets at intermediate ranges. It is based on the Cardom 120mm mortar and can be operated by a two or three man crew. It is ready to fire in less than 1 minute. The Spear system is equipped with its own command and control (C2) system delivering situational awareness and battlefield management. The upgraded Spear Mk 2 featuring less recoil was introduced in May 2017.
