The Kalashnikov AM-17 is a compact and lightweight assault rifle firing 5.45x39 ammo. The AM-17 automatic rifle was tested in the Special Military Operation in Ukraine until October 2024. Kalashnikov expects to launch the mass production of the AM-17 in 2025 replacing the AKS-74U introduced in 1979 within the Russian Armed Forces.
