The Multirole Electronically Scanned Array (MESA) is an advanced radar able to track airborne and maritime targets simultaneously with outstanding performance in terms of range, tracking and accuracy. Besides, MESA also features integrated identification friend or foe (IFF) functions. Northrop Grumman developed MESA to fit into Boeing 737 mid-size aircraft. It is the critical sensor aboard the 737 Airborne Early Warning and Control (AEW&C) aircraft which has been ordered by Australia, South Korea and Turkey.
