The Royal Australian Navy (RAN) Offshore Patrol Vessel (OPV) program is aimed at delivering 12 patrol vessels in the 2020s. Austal and ASC (first two boats) were awarded the new program by the Australian Government on November 23, 2017, pending final terms negotiations. The first vessel under the OPV program should be commissioned in 2020 or later.
