Uzbekistan Airways Selects Pratt & Whitney PW4000-94 Engine to Power Four 767s

FARNBOROUGH AIR SHOW – July 18, 2008 – Uzbekistan Airways has selected Pratt & Whitney PW4000-94” engines to power an order for new Boeing 767 aircraft in a deal valued at more than US$130 million. The agreement, which is subject to approval of the Uzbekistan government, includes installed engines for four firm Boeing 767 aircraft and one spare engine. Pratt & Whitney is a division of United Technologies Corp. (NYSE:UTX).

“We are delighted to have the performance, fuel efficiency and low emissions of the PW4000 engine for our new Boeing 767 aircraft,” said Gennady Kharlap, Deputy General Director of Uzbekistan Airways. “As we continue to grow our fleet, it is important to have the dependable products and world-class service that Pratt & Whitney delivers day in and day out.”

Uzbekistan Airways currently operates Pratt & Whitney-powered 757, 767 and A310 aircraft. Deliveries for the new PW4000-94” engines are planned to begin in 2013.
