Russian Ministry of Defense Takes Delivery of a New Batch of Su-30SM2 Fighter Jets and Yak-130 Trainers

The Irkutsk Aviation Plant completed production and handed over new Su-30SM2 fighters and Yak-130 combat trainers to the Russian Ministry of Defense.

This was reported by the press service of the Rostec state corporation, whose structure the plant is part of the United Aircraft Corporation.

UAC General Director, Yuri Slyusar, emphasized that the plant has fulfilled the production plan within the framework of the state defense order and has already begun production of aircraft in accordance with the program for next year.

Su-30SM2 fighters are a modernized version of the Su-30SM; they are actively used by the Russian Aerospace Forces and the Russian Navy. The new modification is equipped with an improved radio electronics system, which significantly expanded its combat capabilities. The detection and identification range of air targets has been increased, and new high-precision weapons have been added.

The Yak-130 combat trainer aircraft , created at the Yakovlev Design Bureau, is the main aircraft for training pilots of the Russian Aerospace Forces. On it, pilots gain the skills to fly 4th and 5th generation aircraft.
