The People’s Liberation Army (PLA) Dong Feng 12 (DF-12), also known as M-20, is a tactical ballistic missile system designed to hit targets at ranges between 100 and 280 kilometers with a circular error probable (CEP) of 30 meters. The weapon system consists on one 8x8 truck system carrying two DF-12 missiles inside canisters which also serve as launch pad. The missile guidance system combines inertial navigation system and BeiDou satellite navigation. Some reports suggest that the actual maximum range of the DF-12 missile is 400 kilometers. The PLA deployed the DF-12 tactical missile system beginning in 2013 and offered the weapon system for the export market as the M-20 starting in November 2016.
