The Kaan, also referred to as Khan, is a tactical ballistic missile developed by Roketsan to engage time-sensitive targets with outstanding accuracy in all weather conditions, in any terrain day/night in support of ground forces. The Kaan missile navigation system combines an inertial measurement unit (IMU) with satellite positioning (GPS) and can be carried and launched inside a sealed pod. Each launcher vehicle carries two solid-fueled Kaan missiles. The weapon is 610mm in diameter, 2,500 kg weight, carries a 470 kilogram warhead and has a maximum range of 280 kilometers. Its longer range provides this weapon with a threatening and deterrent capability against potential enemies. The Kaan was first test fired by Turkey in the Black Sea region in May 2017.
